Your reporting especially under the microscope stories (on many topics) gets me so fired up which is a good thing. This should be read and feared by all affiliated with the systematic burying of the truth. It really burns me up … these men who only cared about their precious football team. Apparently it was all about teamwork all right and not in the honorable, decent and rallying sense of the word. There are many people many culpable here so keep peeling away those layers Shelley. It is an infuriating read… this article. Keep going.

Keep reporting on this topic, please. I believe we’ve only just scratched the surface of inproprieties from the misdemeanor to criminal in the college “culture” of football. I learned 40 years ago while at the University of Miami that whatever it takes for “team” means just that. It’s sick how universities protect their players. Let’s just say,I was the victim of assault and battery (it was not sexual) by a football player who was upset because my dorm-mate parked in his unassigned spot. I being 5’2″, he 6’4″. Though I reported it to campus police and the men’s dean, the player was never disciplined. They begged me not to press charges saying how it would hurt his career. The only reason I didn’t pursue it further, was because the player knew which dorm I lived in and I was scared of revenge.
